Animafac
Created in 1996, Animafac is the French national network of student associations.
Committed to support student initiatives, Animafac promotes student active
participation and allows many young people to meet and contribute to socially
innovative projects. Animafac is also a resource centre that provides student
associations with tools in order to help them run and manage their associations. A
couple years ago, the organisation started to develop European projects on different
topics : student engagement recognition within higher education (European STEP
project), the 2019 European elections, democracy. In 2020-2021, Animafac has also
developed a project on mental health of young people.
ESU
The European Students’ Union (ESU) is the umbrella organisation of 45 national unions
of students’ from 40
European countries. ESU promotes and represents the educational, social, economic
and cultural interests
of almost 20 million students to all key European decision-making bodies: the
European Union, Council of Europe,
UNESCO and the Bologna Follow Up Group. The NUSes are open to all students in their
respective country regardless of
political persuasion, religion, ethnic or cultural origin, sexual orientation or
social standing. Our members
are also student-run, autonomous, representative and operate according to democratic
principles.
EUF
The European University Foundation (EUF) is a network of 86 member universities
established in 30+ countries. It stands for diversity and social fairness in Higher
Education and aims to accelerate the modernisation of the European Higher Education
Area. The network deploys intensive cooperation and policy experimentation under
five key pillars: (1) Digital Higher Education both for governance and provision of
education, (2) entrepreneurship and employability skills of graduates, (3) policy
innovation at the national and European level, (4) active citizenship of students
and (5) quality mobility for all. The network's key activities are designed to build
capacity and expertise among administrative and academic staff members, raise
awareness of EU policy goals and actions, and enable policy dialogues between
practitioners, policy-makers and stakeholders. The activities are underpinned by the
organisation of high-quality student mobility, since this is considered to be an
excellent driver to implement reforms within Higher Education.
Coimbra
The Polytechnic University of Coimbra (IPC) was established in 1979 and is located in
the central region of Portugal, in the city of Coimbra. Currently, the IPC is one of
the ten largest Portuguese higher education institutions (HEIs) and plays a major
role in the development of the region and the progress of the country. IPC is made
up of six colleges with approximately 10,000 students and 900 employees (faculty and
staff). IPC colleges offer higher education programs in many fields of study such as
agricultural sciences, education and arts, administration, marketing and business
sciences, media sciences and communication, tourism and sports, gastronomy, health
technologies and engineering. All IPC colleges offer programs of several
qualification levels, namely short courses, bachelors, masters and postgraduate
courses.
Thessaloniki
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) is the largest university in Greece.
It was founded at 1925 and its main campus is located in the centre of the city of
Thessaloniki. It covers an area of about 33.4 hectares, while some educational and
administrative facilities are located off campus, outside the city of Thessaloniki
or even in other cities, for practical and operational reasons. It comprises 11
faculties which consist of 40 schools and 1 single-school faculty, covering a wide
range of scientific fields. Also, there are 64 clinics (Medical, Dental,
Veterinary), 314 laboratories and 23 study spaces. It offers many undergraduate and
postgraduate programmes across many disciplines. In addition, AUTH is
internationally recognized for its educational and research work and it has
established important collaborations with several foreign institutions.
Brasov
Transilvania University of Brasov (UNITBV) is the largest comprehensive public
university in the central region of Romania, founded in 1948, with 19.038 students
and 740 full-time teaching staff. UNITBV is offering a diversity of study programs
(100+ bachelor programmes, 70+ master programmes, 18 PhD programmes) covering 43
domains of science in the major fields of engineering, social sciences, humanities,
arts, medicine, mathematics and sports. In terms of number of students UNITBV is the
7th largest Romanian university, being focused on top performance in education,
student international mobility, and the richness of students' social and cultural
experience in campus. Research at Transilvania University of Brasov is supported by
the state-of-the-art infrastructure of the R&D Institute, one of the largest
research platforms in South-Eastern Europe. Researchers, teaching staff and students
work together in 30 research centres and interdisciplinary teams with results which
have placed UNITBV among the most prestigious and competitive Romanian universities.
UNITBV promotes internationalization (at home and abroad), having strong
international links with centres of excellence throughout Europe and overseas for
education and research. One of the main aim of the UNITBV is the increased
visibility at the international level, as well as increased quality of the education
and scientific-research processes, by extending the cooperation with relevant
institutions, both of the European Union countries, and of nonEuropean countries.
Some of the measures for this aim implemented during the last four years focused on
increasing the number of study programs taught in foreign languages, support and
stimulation of the professional development of the academic staff to participate in
international mobility exchanges and collaborations, internship programs, the
development of professional competencies of HEI’s teaching staff and students being
central for the UNITBV development strategy.
Praha
Charles University is a prestigious and historic institution located in Prague,
Czech Republic. Established in 1348, it is one of the oldest universities in Europe.
Named after its founder, King Charles IV, the university has a rich tradition of
academic excellence and has played a significant role in shaping Central European
intellectual history. It comprises numerous faculties, offering a wide range of
undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various fields, including humanities,
natural sciences, medicine, and social sciences. Charles University is known for its
distinguished faculty, notable alumni, and its commitment to fostering research and
innovation. The university's campus is situated in the heart of Prague, contributing
to its vibrant academic and cultural atmosphere. Apart from that CU has faculties in
two of Czech Republic's most beautiful cities of Pilzen and Hradec Králové. The
topic of well-being has been very important for CU in the last years as it has its
place not only in the Rectors Board but also in the CU's long-term strategic plan.
